Improved Title-Case Conversions

The Title Case or Initial Caps feature in word processors is too simplistic. The applet below does a better job of identifying words that should not be capitalized. It is based on the corresponding feature in AnnWebLinks 1.5. Unlike the applet below, that program allows you to modify the exception list.

A discussion of this topic can be found in Google Answers.

To use this applet, enter a phrase in the first text field and press the Convert button. Pressing the Clear button will clear both text fields.

Following are the words that this applet does not capitalize when they are not the first or last word of a phrase, or the first word after a colon.

In addition, this applet preserves acronyms if they are in upper case and the entered text is not all in upper case.
